Philly Sex Assault Suspect Sought

Police are seeking a man who they say carried out a sexual assault in West Philadelphia in the early hours on Tuesday, May 2.

It happened on the 3800 block of Chestnut Street around 1:50 a.m., city police wrote in a release. 

The suspect, seen on surveillance video released by authorities, is described as 20 to 30 years old and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a dark zip-up Polo hoodie, blue jeans with white stitching on the inseam, and "peach-colored" sneakers, the department said. 

The suspect was armed with a knife during the assault, but the weapon was recovered by police, according to the release. He is still considered "armed and dangerous" by investigators and residents should call 911 if spotted.
